This may sound cliche but my mother is my inspiration. She's a diabetic. Her diabetes is now under control. When she was younger she did not have much knowledge about diabetes and what she can do to avoid the disease. It is when she was diagnosed with diabetes she then learn how to take care of herself and her family. She made sure that the family gets nutritious healthy food. Every morning she would wake up early to go to the community center to do yoga exercises. On certain days she and my dad would go take dance lessons. If she can do all that I can too. I want to live a healthy lifestyle.
When I told my mother about this project and losing weight by the end of the semester she was really encouraging. Even though she would make jokes about me not fitting into my dress or being pudgy at certain areas she still encourage me to exercise. There are times when she exercise with me. We also take walks together with the dog. We are getting closer to each other and I never knew that exercising with my mother would be that fun and encouraging. However, the pudgy jokes can be a little too much to handle sometimes but that's how moms are.
I have been working out for 30 minutes everyday. I have not sipped a can of soda for over one week. I am proud of myself and I am glad that I have my mom and my fiance there to push me.
