exercise in vegas

Last weekend I went to Vegas to celebrate my friend's thirtieth birthday. The first thing that we did in Vegas was drink. I don't know how many calories I consumed from drinking but I did dance for 3 hours the first night. I considered dirty dancing and moving my hips for 3 hours is exercise. We got back to our room really late and we all slept til noon. It took 3 hours for 10 girls to get ready. By the time we were all ready it was 3:30 so we headed over to get lunch/dinner. Who goes to Vegas and not eat at a buffet? We went to the M resort to eat, it was all you can eat seafood and free beer and wine all night!! Thinking that I should get my moneys worth I kept on eating until I couldn't move anymore. That was a mistake. We had 2 hours to digest before another night of dancing. This time I didn't drink that much because I had no space in my stomach for alcohol. I did another 3 hours of dancing before calling it a night. All the partying and sleeping late made me a little weak. I think I've caught a cold. I decided to also quit drinking sodas to help with the weight loss goal. First day I fail on the soda deal. Today I started again and I haven't touch a can of soda yet.

it's hard losing the love weight!

So I have been trying to exercises every other day. Sometimes I'm successful but most of the time I'm just too tired to do anything or even try. Last week was a crazy week and this week does not look like it's getting any better.

Wii Fitness!!

I have been playing with Wii fitness for the past two days for an hour. I was actually sweating and panting. So far so good. The game is actually harder than I thought. For one of their aerobics training, we can choose the hula hoop round so I did. I hula hooped with the game and I also took a real hula hoop to use. That was challenging!

My little brother is also doing this fitness with me. There is a basic run in this game where you just run in place. You're suppose to put the wii control in your pocket or you can hold on to it. He didn't know that so he just stood there and shook his remote control up and down. I was wondering how come I don't hear running sounds. He wasn't running! I showed him how it was supposed to be play. I was literally panting and out of breath by the time I cross the finish line.

I have lost 2 lbs since my baseline measurement!!

dog walking

This week I did one day of P90X. I'm not sure if it's helping me or what not since it is suppose to be an everyday routine. It kicks my butt each time I do it and then I get all tired and sore. I can barely do one hour let alone 90 minutes of it. The only track/cd that I 'm mostly using is the cardio and yoga one. So I did P90X Thursday night. I took a break on Friday and Saturday to relax. Saturday wasn't that relaxing though. I was helping my fiance and his cousin prepare a one year old birthday celebration. The birthday party is like a mini wedding! I did of lot of running around, setting up and then cleaning up; therefore, I considered that as a day of exercise. If it is making me sweat that is exercise to me. I think I'm burning quite a few calories. I have been walking my dog everyday for about 30 minutes. Not sure if I should start counting calories. My motto for the rest of the week, never say LATER because later will never happen. I have to get off my butt and start working.

week 2

So I didn't put my baseline down last week and I think I should this time. My baseline weight is 130lbs. Once again I am trying to lose 15 lbs by the end of the semester by exercising 3 times a week for one hour. This week I only worked out for one day. I decided to go and try P90X again since that kicked my b**t last time. I started with the cardio exercise. Oh my, I am out of shape! I took numerous breaks and I was huffing and puffing by the time that I finished. I know that you should do it daily, but I am just going to do it every other day. Well, tomorrow is another day of abs exercise at work and walking 7 flights of stairs.

week 1

My personal project for this semester would be to lose 15 pounds by the end of this semester by eating healthy and working out 2-3 times a week for one hour or every day for 30 minutes. The reason why I want to lose those pounds is because I am getting married this October and I want to shed the extra love meat. My fiance is trying to support me with this goal. He too has to work out. I think I just have to start eating healthy and stop eating out at restaurants. I need to eat more vegetables and fruits. I also need to increase my water intake and decrease soda. I'm a sucker for coke during meals. It's quite hard to quit soda pop because it tastes so good with food! Another barrier is work. Work tires me out and when I get home all I want to do is relax and not move. I think I need a work out buddy. Working out with my fiance is a no go because I feel self conscious when he's staring. I think during work I will do ab exercises that way I'm just not sitting there. Well, so far this week I have only worked out one day. One day is better than none and I have decrease my junk intake. I am searching for deals at various gyms right now. I will reach that goal by the end of the semester.
